"Biomimicry blog competition" terms and conditions
GTAC is the sole promoter of the Biomimicry Blog Competition.
Entrants must be students enrolled in a Victorian school and participating in a course of study at Years 10, 11, or 12. Immediate family members of GTAC employees cannot enter. By entering the Biomimicry Blog Competition, the entrant warrants he or she meets the entry requirements and accepts the competition terms and conditions.
- Time frame
Entries must be submitted by 4.00 p.m. on Monday, 15th June 2020.
Entries are limited to one per person. Entrants are required to be registered as a student at the GTAC website (www.gtac.edu.au) and to register their interest in entering the Biomimicry Blog Competition at the GTAC website. Entrants must submit their entries by uploading Word or PDF documents to Dropbox through the link provided by GTAC. The written composition of the entry must be limited to 500 words, excluding references. One image can be submitted embedded within the document. Winners will be selected by a judging panel comprising GTAC education staff and decided on the basis of the scientific, persuasive, and literary merit of the entries. GTAC reserves the right to edit text or omit images supplied by entrants for publication. Entry in the Biomimicry Blog Competition does not oblige GTAC to publish the entry.
- Costs and expenses
Entrants are responsible for any and all expenses that they incur for preparing a submission or entering the competition and they will not be reimbursed regardless of whether or not they win the competition.
- Intellectual property
By entering the Biomimicry Blog Competition, the entrant warrants that his or her entry is an original composition and that he or she possesses all necessary rights to provide the intellectual property to GTAC. By entering the Biomimicry Blog Competition, the entrant grants an express license of the intellectual property to GTAC and consents to any act or omission which would otherwise constitute an infringement of their intellectual property.
GTAC reserves the right to disqualify any entrant where the judging panel reasonably suspects any unlawful or improper conduct, such as plagiarism, infringing a third party’s intellectual property rights, or if there has otherwise been a breach of the competition terms and conditions.
Winners will be notified by email and their blog published for display on the GTAC website. GTAC reserves the right to take down the blog at any time that it is deemed necessary to do so. Winning entrants will be identified publicly by first name, last initial, and home school.
Advertised prizes may be substituted for prizes of equivalent value depending upon availability. GTAC will send prizes to the winning entrants’ schools and it will be the responsibility of each home school to ensure the winner enrolled at the school receives his or her prize.
