Ultimately, this was an invaluable experience that developed our scientific skills and knowledge, and gave us the opportunity to be research scientists for a week. Working with like-minded individuals was a privilege, and while we couldn’t identify a specific drug target to cure cancer, we were given the skillset to potentially tackle this issue in the future.

The GTAC Sire program has been an incredible experience that I was able to participate in over the week. It has given me an opportunity to find out how researchers work and conduct their experiments.  I found it very helpful and being able to work with mentors who had hands-on experience in cancer research and biology fields.

Green Geneticists (2022)

I am thankful to GTAC for giving me this chance to experience what it is like to work as a scientist. This gave me the chance to have a deeper insight of the work done in labs.

Green Discovery (2022)

I had an amazing experience at GTAC and I am so glad that I had the opportunity to study and work here for the week. The SIRE program allowed me to learn so much from other scientists and I found their mindsets when it came to research and experiments to be extremely inspiring and I wish to adopt some parts of the way they think when it comes to science in my future.

"Our time at GTAC has been fantastic. This experience has illuminated the appeal to a career in research and in particular cancer research to which I have now taken a great interest in"

GTAC Girls (2019)

I absolutely loved the experience I had this week at GTAC. I learnt so much in a short amount of time. I had high expectations for this program but never actually thought it would be this interesting and valuable. It has doubled my interest in science and expanded my knowledge of future pathways for me. It has inspired me to work harder and have  more patience in general
