Active learning strategies for the revised VCE Biology study design 2022 – 2026
Registrations are now open for our free Professional Learning program. This PL program is designed to support you to teach a selection of new concepts and skills in the 2022 – 2026 VCE Biology study design. We are providing online resources featuring the following:
- Unpacking the changes in the new VCE Biology study design
- Ideas for running investigations and SACs in the classroom
- Contemporary research and emerging technologies in the life sciences
- Interactive resources to support teaching new key knowledge areas
- Approaches to using case studies; to analysing and evaluating contemporary biological issues; and to the analysis and evaluation of primary and secondary data
These areas of focus were selected based on the preferences of more than 140 teachers who completed our survey on how to support you to teach the new VCE biology.
Given the uncertainty we are all experiencing around COVID-19 and our desire to keep everyone as safe as possible, we have decided that we will provide this professional learning virtually. Teachers, laboratory technicians and pre-service teachers who register for this free PL can access classroom resources and supportive teacher materials from their schools and homes. We are investigating ways that you can interact directly with GTAC team members when materials are launched. GTAC will share details about this interactive content closer to the release date.
